German club 1.FC Köln have given their captain Timo Hübers a new one-year deal. The defender is currently recovering from a serious knee injury he suffered at the end of October.
Hübers began his professional journey at Hannover 96. He later played for the Köln reserve team during the 2015-16 season. He rejoined the first team in 2021 and has since made 135 appearances for the club. The centre-back also helped the team qualify for the UEFA Conference League.
