VfB Stuttgart have tied midfielder Nikolas Nartey to the club until 2028. The Danish international has signed a new two-year deal to extend his stay at the Bundesliga side.
Nartey’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of the current campaign. The club have now secured his future for an additional two seasons.
The midfielder has featured 36 times for Stuttgart during this term. He has scored three goals and provided four assists for his team-mates.
Fabian Wohlgemuth is the board member for sport at Stuttgart. He explained that Nartey has faced a difficult time at the club because of injuries. However, he has now developed into a reliable and important player for the team.
“Niko can give our play fresh energy in different positions,” said Wohlgemuth. “This is why a contract extension made sense. We look forward to working with him further.”
Nartey said he feels very happy at the club. He praised the team, the coaching staff, and the support from the fans. “I am happy the extension has happened,” he stated. “I look forward to continuing the journey with our team.”
