  • Five teams face the threat of relegation to the Segunda Division on the final matchday
  • Celta Vigo have secured continental football but could drop from the Europa League to the Conference League
  • Mallorca must win their fixture and rely on specific results from three other matches to survive
  • Getafe control their own destiny regarding European qualification with a victory
  • Girona need to beat fellow strugglers Elche to guarantee their safety

The Spanish top flight prepares for a tense conclusion this weekend. Ten clubs enter the final round of fixtures with everything at stake. Five teams risk falling into the Segunda Division, while five others chase spots in next season’s European competitions.

At the bottom of the table, RCD Mallorca face the most difficult path to safety. They must defeat Real Oviedo at the Son Moix stadium. Even with three points, they need favourable outcomes elsewhere. Specifically, they require victories for Girona and Getafe, plus a draw or win for Levante. Only this exact combination would save them through head-to-head calculations.

Girona hold their future in their own hands. A victory against Elche at Montilivi guarantees their survival in the top division. Any other result sends them down to the second tier.

Elche require just one point from their trip to Girona to secure safety. However, should they lose, they would need a complex four-way tie at 42 points involving Osasuna, Levante and Mallorca to remain in La Liga.

Osasuna travel to the Coliseum knowing a draw against Getafe keeps them safe. Defeat puts them at risk of a multi-team tie that would see them relegated. Levante sit in the strongest position among the bottom five. They avoid the drop if they take any points from Real Betis. Even with a loss, they survive unless Girona, Getafe and Osasuna all achieve favourable results.

At the top end of the table, Celta Vigo have already confirmed continental football. They secure a second straight Europa League campaign if they avoid defeat to Sevilla at Balaidos, or if Getafe fail to beat Osasuna. Should Celta lose and Getafe win, the Galician club would drop to the Conference League.

Getafe know that victory over Osasuna brings European football next term. If Celta lose to Sevilla, Getafe claim the Europa League spot. If Celta draw or win, Getafe would enter the Conference League instead.

Rayo Vallecano must defeat Alaves and hope Getafe drop points to qualify for Europe. Valencia need to beat Barcelona while hoping both Getafe and Rayo slip up. Espanyol retain faint hopes but require multiple results to go their way, including a heavy defeat for Getafe.

Real Sociedad have already secured their place in the Europa League through their Copa del Rey triumph, though they could still finish seventh.
