Gregor Kobel has entered the Borussia Dortmund record books. The Swiss goalkeeper matched a club landmark during the weekend clash with Werder Bremen.

BVB secured a 2-0 victory away from home on Saturday. This result gave Kobel his 15th clean sheet of the Bundesliga season.

The 28-year-old has now equalled the record set by Roman Weidenfeller in 2011/12. No Dortmund keeper had kept more shut-outs in a single league campaign until this point.

“It is a wonderful feeling to play for a club like BVB and reach the same level as a keeper like Weidenfeller,” Kobel said after the match.

The Swiss international has conceded only 34 goals in 34 league matches this term. However, he believes the credit belongs to the entire team.

“This success belongs to all of us. I cannot do this alone. I need help from the players in front of me,” he stated. “They have worked very hard to make my job easier this season.”
