Sevilla have begun restructuring their hierarchy after securing their place in the top division. The La Liga outfit have agreed to part ways with Sporting Director Antonio Cordón at the end of the month.

Cordón will exit the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on 31 May. The 59-year-old still had two years left on his current agreement. However, he has reportedly waived his right to the remaining wages in order to secure an amicable departure.

The shake-up comes amid a change of ownership. Former defender Sergio Ramos is set to become the new owner after reaching an agreement with the present majority shareholders. The deal is expected to be finalised soon.

Meanwhile, questions remain over the future of head coach Luis García Plaza. Speaking after the recent defeat to Real Madrid, the manager revealed he has no guarantees about his position. García Plaza stated that he needs to feel valued by the club, adding that he would depart without issue if the new regime prefers a different coach. He holds a contract for next season, though any final decision appears on hold until the takeover is complete.

Sevilla mathematically confirmed their La Liga status for next season despite the loss to Madrid, allowing the club to press ahead with their restructuring plans.
