Brazilian defender Thiago Silva has given a strong hint about his future plans following his exit from FC Porto. The centre-back joined the Portuguese club as a free agent earlier this year but has now moved on after a short spell.
The veteran star, who will celebrate his 42nd birthday in September, has been the subject of transfer speculation. Reports had suggested he might return to former club AC Milan to continue his playing career. Another option linked to Silva was a coaching role at Chelsea, where he previously won major honours.
However, the former Paris Saint-Germain player posted images on social media showing him at a training facility in Scotland. He confirmed that he is currently completing his UEFA coaching badges in the country.
“Midway through my UEFA licence course in Scotland,” Silva wrote. “Always learning, always evolving. Football never stops teaching you!”
He also expressed his thanks to the Scotland national team for their support during his studies. This development suggests Silva is preparing for life after his playing days, even though he has not officially announced his retirement from the pitch.
