Bayern Munich ended their season with a trophy after defeating VfB Stuttgart 3-0 in the DFB-Pokal final on Saturday night in Berlin. Harry Kane delivered a strong performance to help the Bavarian club secure their 21st domestic cup title.

Stuttgart’s sporting director, Fabian Wohlgemuth, congratulated his players for their hard work even though they lost. He said the final result did not reduce the value of their display.

“Only the final score matters, but we can leave with pride,” Wohlgemuth stated. “We played well in the first 45 minutes, but the second half was different. The match was very demanding. We could not match their pace after the break. Harry Kane was the player who changed the game.”

Wohlgemuth also ignored questions about José Mourinho’s visit. He confirmed that Stuttgart want to keep Deniz Undav at the club for longer. They hope to sign a new deal with him very soon.

“I do not wish to speak about Mourinho’s invitation,” he said. “There are many famous people here this evening. We want to act fast and extend Undav’s contract. We hope to complete this quickly, possibly before the World Cup begins.”

Meanwhile, Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl spoke about the club’s aims. He said they wanted to win all three trophies this season. He called the cup victory particularly important.

“We targeted every title available,” Eberl explained. “That was our mindset from the start. We won the league title with ease. However, cup finals are always unpredictable. Therefore, winning this trophy again means a great deal.”

Eberl also praised Harry Kane. The striker has now won another major honour since ending his long wait for trophies at Bayern.

“Kane had not won any trophies before he moved to Munich,” Eberl noted. “Now he is collecting them all. He fully deserves this success. It is fantastic to have him in our team.”

The Bayern board member also responded to recent comments from honorary president Uli Hoeneß. He admitted the words surprised him. However, he remains focused on his job.

“I found Uli Hoeneß’s comments very surprising today,” Eberl said. “But I have always said I just want to do my work. The team’s performances this season are what matter to me. We speak to each other regularly. This is why the comments surprised me. But this is not important tonight. We are celebrating our season and our 21st DFB-Pokal title. I am looking forward to the party.”
