AS Monaco are preparing for a major shake-up at the Stade Louis II. The Ligue 1 side intend to part ways with both their head coach and chief executive following a disappointing campaign.
Sébastien Pocognoli is set to leave his position on the bench. The Belgian manager faces the axe after the team collapsed at the end of the season. Monaco lost their final two league clashes against Lille OSC and RC Strasbourg Alsace. These back-to-back defeats saw them drop to seventh place in the French top flight.
The club only secured a spot in the Europa Conference League preliminary rounds thanks to RC Lens lifting the Coupe de France. These playoff matches will take place during the summer months.
However, Pocognoli will not be the only casualty of this failed season. Reports indicate that chief executive Thiago Scuro will also be dismissed in the coming days. The Brazilian has faced growing criticism from supporters after the team failed to reach the Champions League group stage for three consecutive years.
Sources suggest further organisational changes could follow at the Principality outfit in the next few weeks. The board want a complete rebuild after another frustrating year in French football.
