Italian champions Inter Milan are working to wrap up a deal for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones before the month ends. The Serie A side hope to have the 25-year-old in their squad when the new season preparations begin in early June.

Jones has just one year remaining on his current contract at Anfield. This situation has encouraged the Nerazzurri to make their move for the central midfielder, and sources suggest personal terms will not present a problem.

However, the two clubs must first agree on a transfer fee. Liverpool are asking for approximately €30 million or more, while Inter are preparing an offer in the region of €20 million to €25 million. Club directors are expected to discuss this gap next week.

Meanwhile, the Milan club continue to monitor Atalanta defender Marco Palestra. They view the Italy international as a replacement if Denzel Dumfries leaves during the transfer window, though negotiations with Atalanta are likely to prove difficult.
