Chelsea have rejected multiple bids for young defender Josh Acheampong. The Premier League club considers the 20-year-old a vital part of their long-term plans.
The England youth international graduated from the academy at Stamford Bridge. Club officials have placed him in the same category as their most prized assets. This group includes forwards Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro, plus midfielder Moises Caicedo.
Despite this high status, Acheampong played only 17 league matches last season. Nine of these appearances came from the substitute bench. He remains under contract with the Blues until 2029.
Several top-flight clubs want to sign the centre-back. Arsenal, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are all watching his situation closely. Bournemouth also tried to buy him last summer and still holds an interest.
It is not clear if Acheampong wants to leave west London. However, Chelsea have made it clear they will not sell the defender during this window.
