Real Madrid want to sign Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan this summer. The Spanish club has already made contact with the Italian side about a possible transfer.

The Dutch defender has a special clause in his contract. Foreign teams can buy him for €25 million. However, this price is only available until the middle of July. Italian clubs cannot use this clause.

Top football reporters Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio both confirm that Madrid are interested. Di Marzio says the 15-time Champions League winners have already taken the first step to speak with Inter.

Inter need to sell players before they can buy new ones. They want to sign Marco Palestra from Atalanta. The young Italian player is worth around €50 million. Selling Dumfries would give Inter more money to complete this deal.

Inter have made Palestra their main target this transfer window. However, they face strong competition from the Premier League. Manchester City, Newcastle United and Arsenal are also interested in the player.

Inter recently offered €40 million plus €5 million in extra payments for Palestra. Atalanta turned down this bid. The Bergamo club insist they will only accept the full €50 million asking price.
