VfL Wolfsburg are ready to sell their club captain Christian Eriksen. The Bundesliga side have reached an agreement with the 34-year-old midfielder to end his time at the club.

According to Sport BILD, the Danish international may return to AFC Ajax. He played for the Dutch giants earlier in his career. The transfer fee for Eriksen is expected to be lower than his current market value.

The German club need to raise funds through player sales. Along with Eriksen, they plan to sell Mohamed Amoura, Patrick Wimmer, Kamil Grabara and Lovro Majer. These five players could bring in nearly €100 million for the Wolves.

Wolfsburg also have targets in mind. They still hope to sign Hertha Berlin goalkeeper Tjark Ernst and attacker Fabian Reese. Both players had agreed to join the Lower Saxony club before Hertha dropped to the second division.

Now, the club must check if the Berlin duo are still willing to move. The players may not want to join another team outside the top flight. Discussions are continuing between the clubs.
