1. FC Köln have confirmed the permanent signing of Jakub Kaminski. The Bundesliga club activated their option to buy the Polish attacker after his loan spell from VfL Wolfsburg ended.

The 23-year-old played in all 36 competitive matches for Die Geißböcke last season. He scored seven goals and provided five assists during his time on the pitch. These performances convinced the club to make his transfer permanent.

Thomas Kessler, the managing director, spoke highly of the player’s attitude. “Kuba impressed us with his personality from our first meeting,” Kessler said. “He is down-to-earth, ambitious, and a true team player.”

The executive added that these qualities were visible throughout the campaign. “He showed these characteristics every day, both during training and in matches. This made our decision to exercise the purchase option very easy.”

Kessler also stated that Kaminski’s development proves the club’s strength. “His progress shows that 1. FC Köln is an excellent place for ambitious players to grow and advance their careers,” he explained.

Despite his young age, Kaminski already has significant experience. He made his debut for Lech Poznan at 17 years old. He earned his first cap for Poland at 19 and played in the 2022 World Cup.

The winger moved to VfL Wolfsburg after that tournament. During his time there, he made 104 appearances in the Bundesliga. Now, he will continue his career at the RheinEnergieStadion on a permanent contract.
