Kai Havertz says Germany have not chosen their penalty taker for the World Cup. The Arsenal forward spoke one week before the tournament starts.

Many fans think Havertz will take the penalties. However, the 26-year-old says the team has not talked about this.

“We have not spoken about that yet,” Havertz told the German Football Association’s website.

“I have usually taken penalties in recent years. But we have other good players who can take penalties. There is no order yet.”

Havertz scored both penalties for Germany at Euro 2024. He scored against Scotland and Denmark.

Joshua Kimmich took the next two penalties in Nations League and World Cup qualifying games. Havertz was not on the pitch for those matches.

When both players started against Ghana in March, Havertz took the penalty. He scored in Germany’s 2-1 win.
