Italian football officials have unveiled the complete schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 Serie A campaign. The announcement took place at the Teatro Regio in Parma. This event formed part of the annual Festival della Serie A celebration.
The new season will begin on the weekend of August 22, 2026. It will finish on the weekend of May 30, 2027. Fans can expect two midweek rounds of matches. These will occur around October 28 and January 6.
Players will report for international duty on four separate weekends. These breaks fall on September 27, October 4, November 15, and March 28. The league will pause for Christmas. No matches will take place on the weekend of December 26-27.
The fixture list follows an irregular pattern this year. This means the second half of the season does not simply mirror the first half. New criteria now protect local rivals from facing each other during the opening or closing weekends. This rule also applies to the only midweek slot in a regular working week, which is Week 9.
European competition scheduling has also changed. Teams playing in the Champions League cannot meet opponents from the Europa League or Conference League during specific periods. These restricted weeks are Week 7, 21, 25, 28, 31, and 34. The precise dates and kick-off times for all matches will be confirmed at a later stage. This delay allows organisers to consider UEFA’s own fixture calendar.
