Gor Mahia’s preparations for continental football have received a major boost after President William Ruto awarded the club Ksh 10 million. The Kenyan champions visited State House on Sunday afternoon to present their trophy following a successful domestic campaign.

The Head of State gave the money as a personal donation. The club will use these funds to get ready for next season’s CAF Champions League. This comes after K’Ogalo won their 22nd FKF Premier League crown.

Charles Akonnor’s side collected 69 points from 35 matches to seal the title. Bitter rivals AFC Leopards finished second with 64 points, five behind the champions.

During the trophy presentation ceremony, President Ruto praised the team for their excellent performance. He highlighted their rich history and recent achievements.

Additionally, every member of the playing squad and the technical bench will pocket Ksh 100,000. This individual reward recognises their hard work throughout the season.
