Leicester City have confirmed Russell Martin as their new manager. The appointment comes on the same day that Wolverhampton Wanderers unveiled César Peixoto as their head coach. Both clubs are based in the Midlands region of England.

The two teams endured difficult campaigns last term. Leicester dropped from the Championship into League One. Wolves finished at the bottom of the Premier League table with only 20 points. Now, both clubs hope new leadership will bring success.

Martin has signed a deal that runs until 2029. The 40-year-old coach arrives following a short spell at Scottish club Rangers. He has also managed MK Dons, Swansea City and Southampton. His main goal is to help Leicester return to the Championship immediately.

“I am delighted to join this club,” Martin said. “Leicester has a rich history and passionate fans. My priority is to connect with the players and staff. We will set high standards and play football that the supporters enjoy.”

Jon Rudkin, Leicester’s chief football officer, praised Martin. He called the manager a strong leader with clear ideas. Rudkin believes Martin’s style of possession-based football will help the club move forward.

Meanwhile, Wolves have turned to Portugal for their new coach. Peixoto joins from Gil Vicente. He led that club to sixth place in the Primeira Liga last season. Now he must try to restore Wolves’ top-flight status.

Peixoto replaces Rob Edwards, who lost his job last week. Edwards had reportedly helped sign players like Raúl Jiménez and Kieran Trippier. His sacking surprised many observers.

“I am proud to join this historic English club,” Peixoto stated. “This is a big chance for me. I will work hard to return Wolves to the Premier League.”

Nathan Shi, the Wolves chairman, supported the appointment. He said Peixoto has the right qualities to lead the club. This marks the fourth time Wolves have chosen a Portuguese manager in recent years.
