Adrien Rabiot has dismissed speculation regarding his AC Milan future, insisting his sole focus remains on the World Cup amid reports linking him with a reunion with former coach Max Allegri at Napoli.

Speaking to reporters in the mixed zone following France’s 4-1 victory over Norway, the 31-year-old midfielder refused to be drawn on his club situation. “I am concentrated on the World Cup, then we’ll see,” Rabiot said.

Managerial upheaval at San Siro

The French international arrived at San Siro from Olympique Marseille on deadline day last summer in a €7 million deal plus add-ons, seeking specifically to reunite with Allegri, under whom he had previously worked at Juventus. However, the Italian tactician was dismissed by Milan at the end of the season after the Rossoneri fumbled Champions League qualification on the final day. The club has since appointed Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim as their new head coach, marking a significant shift in the project’s direction.

Napoli links and contract details

With Allegri now reportedly lined up to take charge at Napoli, speculation has mounted that Rabiot could follow his former mentor to the Partenopei to escape the uncertain situation at Milan. The midfielder was a key figure in Allegri’s side, contributing six goals and five assists in 29 Serie A appearances despite the team’s disappointing campaign.

Despite the managerial change and exit rumours, Rabiot remains tied to Milan on a long-term contract running until June 2028, with the club holding an option to extend for an additional year. This contractual security gives the Rossoneri a strong negotiating position should Napoli or other suitors formalise their interest, though the player himself appears in no rush to resolve his future until France’s tournament run concludes.
