Corentin Tolisso is close to agreeing a new contract with Olympique Lyonnais that would extend his stay until 2029. The 31-year-old club captain is set to sign a two-year extension to his current deal, which was scheduled to end in 2027.

According to Foot Mercato, the France international has finalised terms on the agreement. The new contract would keep him at the club for the next four seasons, securing his services beyond his 35th birthday.

Career-Best Season

The prospective extension caps a remarkable 2025-26 campaign for Tolisso, who has delivered the strongest statistical output of his career. He contributed 15 goals and six assists in 39 appearances across all competitions, playing a central role as Lyon finished fourth in Ligue 1 and reached the Coupe de France semi-finals.

Since returning to Lyon in the summer of 2022 after five years with Bayern Munich, the midfielder has overcome fitness challenges to become an ever-present figure in the squad. He has since assumed the captain’s armband, leading a side that has shown significant improvement this term.

Youth Product to Leader

Tolisso, a 2018 World Cup winner with France, has now made over 300 appearances for Lyon across two spells. He originally progressed through the club’s academy before moving to Germany, where he spent five seasons and won multiple domestic titles.

His commitment to the project reflects his status as a key figure in the dressing room and on the pitch. At 31, he provides the blend of experience and quality that Lyon will rely upon as they seek to maintain their upward trajectory in French football.

Official confirmation of the contract extension is anticipated shortly.
