Tottenham Hotspur have identified AFC Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi as the leading candidate to strengthen Roberto De Zerbi’s attack, though the Cherries are demanding a fee exceeding £80 million.

The France youth international heads a three-man shortlist drawn up by De Zerbi, who is determined to overhaul his forward line following Tottenham’s flirtation with relegation last season. However, Arsenal are also monitoring the striker, whilst Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly entered the race, intensifying competition for his signature.

Spurs’ Summer Spending Spree

Tottenham’s pursuit of Kroupi forms part of an ambitious recruitment drive. The club are committed to spending a combined €200 million to secure midfielder Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, whilst defender Jan Paul van Hecke has already arrived for €60 million. Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and goalkeeper Martin Dubravka have also joined on free transfers.

This significant outlay underlines the scale of the squad overhaul De Zerbi is overseeing. Yet even by these standards, Bournemouth’s valuation of Kroupi represents a major investment, testing Spurs’ resolve as they seek to avoid another campaign battling the drop.

Alternative Options

Should Tottenham baulk at the asking price, AC Milan’s Rafael Leão remains under consideration as an alternative attacking option. The Portugal international offers proven quality at the highest level, though he would likely command a similar financial commitment.

The north London club are eager to complete their transfer business early, allowing De Zerbi time to integrate new personnel before the season begins. Whether they can negotiate a deal for Kroupi or must turn to alternatives will become clear in the coming weeks as the window progresses.
