Fulham are pushing to sign Netherlands winger Crysencio Summerville from West Ham United following the club’s relegation from the Premier League. The Craven Cottage side have added the 24-year-old to their shortlist as they look to strengthen their wide options.

West Ham slipped into the second tier after a difficult campaign, and Summerville is expected to depart despite being one of their standout performers. The former Leeds United player scored seven goals in ten matches after Christmas in a late bid to save the Hammers from the drop.

Chelsea and Manchester United are also tracking the Dutch international, who featured at the recent World Cup. However, sources suggest Summerville may struggle to secure a move to an elite club, with Fulham representing a more realistic destination for the player.

Fulham’s need for reinforcements has grown after losing Harry Wilson, who is set to join Leeds United on a free transfer. The club are also waiting to decide whether to make Samuel Chukwueze’s loan from Milan permanent, depending on who they appoint as their new manager.

Summerville’s fitness record remains a concern for potential suitors. Since joining West Ham in the summer of 2024, he has battled hamstring and calf problems that limited his playing time. He also struggled with consistency, though his technical ability is not in question.

West Ham have already begun their summer restructuring by selling midfielder Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham for £85m. The club hope that raising funds through player sales will allow them to reject offers for captain Jarrod Bowen, who has attracted interest from several top-flight sides.

Chelsea Bid for Xhaka Rejected

Meanwhile, Chelsea have been told that Granit Xhaka is not for sale “at any price” after Sunderland rejected an £8m bid for the Swiss midfielder. Xhaka will remain at the Stadium of Light despite interest from his former manager at Bayer Leverkusen, Xabi Alonso.

The 33-year-old, currently captaining Switzerland at the World Cup, had appeared keen on reuniting with Alonso at Stamford Bridge. However, talks with Sunderland’s senior hierarchy this week have convinced him to commit to Regis Le Bris’s project, which will include European football next season.

Xhaka joined Sunderland from Leverkusen last summer in a deal potentially worth £17.5m. After securing qualification for the Europa League with a victory over Chelsea in May, he told supporters: “This is just the beginning; we want more.”

Real Madrid Deny Fernández Interest

Across London, Real Madrid have issued a formal statement denying any interest in Chelsea’s Enzo Fernández. The Argentina midfielder was dropped by Chelsea last season after publicly expressing a desire to live in Madrid, sparking rumours of a £120m move.

The Spanish giants stated: “It has not made any effort, either direct or indirect, to sign the aforementioned player and, likewise, has no intention of undertaking such an operation.”

City Defender Departs for Turkey

Manchester City defender Nathan Aké has completed a move to Turkish side Fenerbahce. The 31-year-old Netherlands international ends a six-year stay at the Etihad Stadium, where he won four Premier League titles and the Champions League. He will join up with his new teammates after his World Cup break and reunite with former City goalkeeper Ederson.
