Yan Diomandé has agreed a five-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain and is prioritising a move to the reigning European champions ahead of Liverpool, handing the French club a significant advantage in negotiations for the RB Leipzig winger.

The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international has indicated his desire to join PSG despite the Premier League club lodging an offer for his services. This development allows the Ligue 1 side to approach talks with RB Leipzig from a position of strength, knowing the player is committed to making the switch to Paris rather than Anfield.

Although personal terms are settled, PSG are adopting a patient approach regarding the transfer fee. The club remains in constant contact with the Bundesliga side but is willing to allow negotiations to progress slowly in order to secure the most favourable deal possible. They appear in no hurry to finalise the arrangement immediately.

Diomandé arrives in France off the back of an impressive season in Germany, where he scored 13 goals and provided nine assists. These contributions marked him as one of the most promising young attacking talents in the Bundesliga and drew attention from several major European clubs.

The winger also enhanced his reputation on the international stage during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he featured in Ivory Coast’s run to the knockout phases of the tournament.

With the player-club agreement already secured, the transfer now depends entirely on PSG and RB Leipzig finding common ground on the financial terms. Given the French champions’ relaxed timeline, the deal may take several weeks to complete as they look to add the teenager to their squad ahead of the new campaign.
