Juventus chief executive Giovanni Carnevali has acknowledged that a significant financial gap remains in negotiations to secure Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain, confirming the Serie A club are actively exploring alternative attacking options including Alexander Sorloth.

PSG are holding out for a €40 million fee for the France international, while Juventus have tabled a proposal involving an initial loan with an obligation to buy for a total cost of €33 million. Speaking to Sky, Carnevali confirmed the stalemate, stating: “For Kolo Muani, the demands have not been lowered and we have not increased the proposal, but we are working hard on it.”

The Bianconeri are seeking to strengthen their forward line following the departure of Dusan Vlahovic, whose contract expired on 30 June without renewal. Kolo Muani proved his worth during a loan spell in Turin in the second half of the 2024-25 season, netting eight goals in 16 Serie A appearances to help bolster the club’s attacking ranks.

However, Carnevali insisted Juventus cannot afford to concentrate solely on the former loanee. “I wouldn’t just focus on him,” he said, via Gianluca Di Marzio. “If there is a big difference, we have to make the right assessments. We’re trying to do the best thing.”

The Juventus chief confirmed that Alexander Sorloth is among the alternatives under consideration as the club look to fill the void left by Vlahovic. Carnevali also revealed he did not meet with the Serbian striker to discuss a potential U-turn on his exit, noting: “We didn’t meet with him.”

Beyond their search for a centre-forward, Juventus are monitoring developments regarding Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. Carnevali admitted interest in the shot-stopper but warned that competition will be stiff, saying: “Martinez interests us, but he’s also an interesting profile for a lot of other teams.”

The Turin giants continue to negotiate on multiple fronts as they aim to finalise their squad ahead of the new campaign, with the €7 million valuation gap remaining the primary obstacle to securing Kolo Muani’s return.
