Nottingham Forest have entered the contest to sign Fiorentina right-back Dodo, joining a growing list of clubs tracking the Brazilian defender this summer.
Dodo has made clear his desire to leave the Viola, and the club are working alongside his representatives to secure a transfer. However, Fiorentina’s financial demands have complicated efforts to finalise a swift departure.
Valuation and contract status
Fiorentina are holding out for approximately €15 million for the 1998-born full-back, who remains under contract until 2027. This asking price has slowed negotiations despite the player’s determination to move on from the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Napoli lead Serie A chase
Napoli have been the most persistent suitors, returning to the negotiating table repeatedly in recent weeks. The Partenopei’s interest has raised the possibility of an exchange deal involving winger Noa Lang, whom Fiorentina admire. Any swap arrangement would likely include a cash adjustment favouring Napoli.
Alternatives and fading interest
Beyond the Premier League, several Italian clubs have monitored the situation. Como currently appear the likeliest to firm up their interest with a concrete offer, while Inter made earlier soundings and could yet revive their pursuit.
Roma showed keen interest at the start of the month but have since faded from the race, leaving the path clearer for Forest and their domestic rivals.
The East Midlands club are searching for a wide defender capable of operating in a similar mould to Dodo, who has established himself as a dynamic option on the right flank during his time in Serie A.
With multiple parties now involved, the resolution of Dodo’s future likely depends on whether Fiorentina soften their stance on the €15 million valuation, or whether one of the interested clubs meets their demands.
