AS Roma are negotiating a potential double deal with Chelsea for Alejandro Garnacho and Diego Moreira, Italian media report. The Serie A club has formally ended its pursuit of Mason Greenwood after the forward agreed terms with Fenerbahce.

The Giallorossi had considered the Manchester United loanee, who spent last season at Olympique Marseille, but have redirected their focus toward the Argentine winger and the Portuguese youngster currently playing in France.

Moreira Bid Details

Moreira, who turns 22 next month, joined RC Strasbourg in the summer of 2024 for €8.5 million. Chelsea inserted a first refusal clause into that agreement, though the Premier League side appear unwilling to trigger it. Both clubs operate under the BlueCo consortium led by Todd Boehly.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Roma have offered €35 million plus performance-related bonuses, incorporating a 10 per cent sell-on fee. Transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà suggests the shared ownership structure could allow the clubs to negotiate more favourable terms if combined with a move for Garnacho.

Garnacho Loan Preferred

For Garnacho, who has struggled for minutes at both Manchester United and Chelsea, Roma prefer an initial loan with an option to buy. The 20-year-old would reportedly relish regular football under manager Gian Piero Gasperini.

Roma’s qualification for the Champions League has strengthened their hand, as has the presence of Garnacho’s close friend Paulo Dybala in the squad. The Argentine connection could prove crucial in convincing the winger to move to the Italian capital.

The club now awaits responses from both Chelsea and Strasbourg as they look to complete their attacking reinforcements.
