AS Roma have tabled a formal offer to Chelsea for winger Alejandro Garnacho and are simultaneously pursuing Diego Moreira from RC Strasbourg in a double deal linked to the BlueCo consortium. The Serie A side have abandoned their interest in Mason Greenwood after the forward agreed terms with Fenerbahce, instead focusing their efforts on securing wide attackers for manager Gian Piero Gasperini ahead of their return to the Champions League.

Garnacho Loan Structure

According to Sky Sport Italia, Roma have proposed an initial loan fee of €5 million with an option to buy for a further €35 million, potentially rising to €40 million total. The arrangement could become an obligation if specific conditions are met during the spell in Italy.

The 20-year-old Argentina international has found minutes hard to come by at both Manchester United and Chelsea, stalling his development. Roma hope the prospect of regular football under Gasperini, combined with the presence of his close friend Paulo Dybala in the squad, will prove persuasive. Their qualification for the Champions League after a seven-year absence is expected to strengthen their negotiating position.

Moreira Fee Reports Differ

Parallel talks are ongoing for Moreira, the 22-year-old Portuguese winger currently at Strasbourg. Chelsea inserted a first-refusal clause when selling him to the French club for €8.5 million in the summer of 2024, though they appear unwilling to activate it. Both clubs operate under Todd Boehly’s BlueCo ownership, which transfer pundit Alfredo Pedullà suggests could facilitate favourable terms if packaged with the Garnacho move.

However, sources vary on the proposed fee. La Gazzetta dello Sport report an offer of €35 million plus bonuses, including a 10 per cent sell-on clause, while Sky Sport Italia indicate the figure is closer to €30 million with a 10 per cent share of any future sale.

West Ham Alternative

Roma have also approached West Ham United regarding Crysencio Summerville. The Dutch winger, who recently featured at the 2026 World Cup, is expected to leave the London Stadium following the club’s relegation from the Premier League. He faces competition for his signature from Galatasaray, Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Giallorossi now await responses from Chelsea and Strasbourg as they seek to complete their attacking reinforcements before the new season.
