RSC Anderlecht have reportedly adjusted their stance regarding Moussa Ndiaye, offering the defender to FC Schalke 04 on another loan deal with an option to buy rather than insisting on an immediate permanent transfer.
The 24-year-old Senegalese international impressed during his temporary spell in Gelsenkirchen, playing a key role as Schalke secured promotion back to the Bundesliga. The defender’s performances marked him as one of the success stories of the season, yet Anderlecht had previously demanded between €3 million and €5 million for a full transfer. That valuation appeared financially challenging for the newly promoted German side.
According to Sky Germany, the Belgian club has now proposed a fresh loan arrangement that includes a purchase option. This shift in position could prove pivotal in keeping Ndiaye at the Veltins-Arena for the upcoming campaign, allowing Schalke to strengthen their defensive options without committing the full fee immediately after returning to the top flight.
The concession may be linked to separate reports suggesting Schalke are interested in Robin Gosens, who operates in the same position as Ndiaye. Sky Germany speculates that Anderlecht’s willingness to compromise on the transfer structure could relate to negotiations involving the German international, though this connection remains unconfirmed and should be treated as speculation.
Previously, the €3-5 million valuation had been described as unrealistic—or “utopian”—for Schalke given their financial constraints immediately after promotion. The proposed loan-with-option structure would provide the Royal Blues with essential defensive cover for their Bundesliga return while deferring any permanent decision until the club’s economic situation stabilises.
For Anderlecht, the arrangement protects the player’s market value while ensuring regular first-team football for the defender. Should Schalke secure their top-flight status throughout the upcoming season, the purchase option would likely become significantly more achievable than an immediate cash payment.
Ndiaye’s continued presence would offer significant defensive reinforcement as Schalke prepare to compete at the higher level. The Senegalese proved his adaptability to German football during the previous campaign, making him a valuable asset for the squad’s transition back to the Bundesliga.
Negotiations are understood to be ongoing, with the specific terms of the option-to-buy clause representing a crucial element of any prospective agreement. The final structure of the deal, including any potential obligations or fees, has yet to be formally confirmed by either club.
