Fiorentina are reportedly close to securing the signature of Udinese midfielder Arthur Atta in a deal understood to be worth approximately €30 million. The 23-year-old Frenchman is expected to make the switch to Tuscany after just one full season with the Friulian club.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, La Viola will pay €30m excluding additional bonuses, with Udinese also set to receive a portion of any future sale for the former France Under-20 international. Atta joined Udinese only last summer for a fee of €8m from French side FC Metz, meaning the proposed transfer would generate substantial profit for the Bianconeri.
Breakthrough Campaign
Atta’s proposed move represents a remarkable jump in valuation following his rapid adaptation to Italian football. After arriving as a squad rotation option—making 29 appearances in his debut 2024-25 campaign—the midfielder established himself as a cornerstone of Udinese’s side during the 2025-26 season.
The Rennes-born player started 31 of his 34 appearances across all competitions last term, contributing six goals and four assists. His performances in the heart of midfield have attracted significant interest from top-tier Italian clubs, with Fiorentina now poised to capitalise on his development and secure his services ahead of the new season.
From Ligue 2 to Serie A
Atta’s trajectory has been steep since making his professional debut with Metz in Ligue 2 back in 2022. Having progressed through the youth academies of both FC Metz and Stade Rennais, he initially joined Udinese on loan before the Italian club made the arrangement permanent ahead of the 2024-25 season.
The proposed transfer to Fiorentina would mark his second high-profile move in the space of 12 months, underlining his swift progression from French second-tier football to becoming one of Serie A’s most sought-after midfield talents.
Deal Structure
The financial package currently under discussion reflects Atta’s elevated status in the transfer market. While the base fee stands at €30m, the inclusion of performance-related bonuses and a sell-on clause for Udinese demonstrates the long-term value both clubs anticipate from the player.
Should the transfer proceed as expected, Atta would bring physical presence and technical ability to Fiorentina’s midfield as they look to strengthen their squad for domestic and European competition. The deal would represent one of the summer’s more profitable transactions for Udinese, who invested just €8m to acquire him permanently one year ago.
