Bayern Munich have tabled a €30 million bid for Juventus defender Bremer, falling €10 million short of the Serie A club’s valuation. The offer, revealed by Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, signals the German champions’ intent to strengthen their backline further this summer.
Juventus are holding firm on their €40 million asking price for the Brazilian centre-back, who has become an integral part of their defensive setup. The valuation gap suggests early-stage negotiations, with Bayern yet to commit to meeting the Turin club’s demands. The Turin giants view their star defender as a key pillar of their squad and are reluctant to sanction a departure without securing what they consider full market value.
Heavy investment continues
The approach comes amid a significant spending spree from the Bavarians. Bayern have already invested approximately €50 million each to secure Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown, taking their summer outlay beyond the €100 million mark. This financial commitment indicates serious backing for manager Vincent Kompany’s rebuilding project, though it may also limit their capacity to bridge the valuation gap without selling existing players first.
Defensive reshuffle on the cards
The pursuit of Bremer could trigger the departure of Minjae Kim, who arrived from Napoli only last summer. The South Korean international may be moved on to create space in the squad and generate funds should Bayern decide to push ahead with the Brazilian’s signing. Such a move would mark a swift reversal for Kim, who joined as part of the previous recruitment drive.
Bremer, whose name honours late Germany legend Andi Brehme, established himself as one of Serie A’s most reliable defenders following his move from city rivals Torino. His potential switch to Munich would represent a significant addition for Bayern, though Juventus’s resistance to selling suggests protracted negotiations lie ahead.
It remains uncertain whether Bayern’s current offer represents a firm opening gambit or merely a probe of Juventus’s willingness to negotiate. With the transfer window progressing, the coming days will determine whether the German side return with improved terms or pursue alternative targets to bolster their defensive options before the deadline.
