Turkish side Besiktas have reportedly issued an ultimatum to free agent striker Dusan Vlahovic, setting a Thursday evening deadline for the Serbia international to accept their contract proposal. Vlahovic has been without a club since his Juventus deal expired on 30 June, and while Besiktas currently present the only firm offer on the table, the forward is holding out for approaches from major European leagues.
According to reports, Besiktas have tabled a three-year contract worth approximately €8 million per season. However, the package lacks the substantial signing-on fee and agent commission that Vlahovic is seeking. This financial shortfall has prompted him to delay his decision despite the Turkish club’s growing impatience and the imminent deadline.
Juventus departure and rejected terms
Vlahovic became a free agent after rejecting Juventus’s proposal to extend his stay in Turin. The club offered approximately €6 million annually, representing roughly half of his previous salary, with additional performance-related bonuses attached. The striker had initially expected significant interest from elite clubs including Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Arsenal, but no concrete bids have materialised from these quarters.
Potential return to Turin
The absence of alternative offers has created an uncertain standoff. Juventus are monitoring the situation closely and are reportedly growing increasingly confident that Vlahovic may reconsider their position or return to negotiations once he fully assesses the limited market for his services. The Italian club had relied heavily on him as their primary attacking option before his contract elapsed.
Should Vlahovic decline the Besiktas proposal by Thursday’s deadline, the Turkish club are expected to pivot towards alternative targets. The striker’s representatives maintain belief that superior offers will emerge later in the summer transfer window, though the narrowing timeline places increasing pressure on securing terms that align with both his financial expectations and his desire to compete at the highest level.
