FC Metz have accepted a bid from Saudi Arabian side Al-Diraiyah for midfielder Alpha Touré. The offer is understood to be worth €7 million with an additional €3 million in potential bonuses.

The 20-year-old Senegal youth international has been granted permission to negotiate personal terms with the Gulf club. Should an agreement be reached, the defensive midfielder will leave France following Metz’s relegation to Ligue 2 last season.

From Génération Foot to Saudi Arabia

Touré arrived at Metz through the club’s longstanding partnership with Génération Foot, the Senegalese academy that has supplied several players to the French side. He made his Ligue 1 debut during the 2023-24 campaign and accumulated 30 appearances in France’s top flight.

The defensive midfielder established himself as a regular during Metz’s previous campaign, having initially broken through during their promotion-winning season in Ligue 2. His performances attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League, leading to the current bid from Al-Diraiyah.

Relegation sparks summer exodus

The departure of Touré forms part of a wider restructuring at Metz following their demotion. The club are sanctioning multiple exits to reshape their squad for life in the second tier.

Defender Sadibou Sané is also poised to leave the Stade Saint-Symphorien. The centre-back has agreed a five-year contract with AS Monaco, understood to be worth an initial €4 million.

Touré’s move remains contingent on finalising personal terms and passing a medical examination. The structure of the deal, including the specific triggers for the €3 million in bonus payments, has not been disclosed by either club.
