Fiorentina have opened negotiations with Trabzonspor for Christ Inao Oulai as the Italian club looks to strengthen its midfield ahead of the new season.

The 20-year-old Ivorian international has emerged as a priority target for the Viola following his performances at the 2026 World Cup. Oulai joined Trabzonspor from French side SC Bastia just over a year ago for €5.5 million, and the Turkish club are now seeking a significant profit with an asking price reported to be between €23 million and €25 million.

During his debut campaign in the Super Lig, Oulai contributed two goals and four assists across 25 league appearances. His rapid development has attracted interest from several clubs, with Premier League sides Brentford and Nottingham Forest also monitoring the situation closely.

The potential move comes as Fiorentina undergo a major squad overhaul after narrowly avoiding relegation from Serie A last term. New coach Fabio Grosso, who took charge this summer, is driving the recruitment efforts as he attempts to rebuild a side that struggled throughout the previous campaign.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina could face outgoing business of their own. Turkish giants Fenerbahce have enquired about striker Moise Kean, who has a release clause of €62 million that remains valid only between July 1 and July 15. The Italy international, whose contract runs until June 2029, endured fitness problems last season that disrupted his availability.

Any transfer for Kean would need to be completed within the narrow two-week window specified in his contract terms. For Oulai, Fiorentina must fend off competition from English clubs and meet Trabzonspor’s valuation to secure the young midfielder’s services.
