Fulham have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to sign striker Jonah Kusi-Asare on a permanent basis for a reported €6 million. The deal includes a buy-back clause that allows the German champions to re-sign the teenager in future, according to Bild.
The 18-year-old, who is also referred to as Jonas in some reports, spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Craven Cottage. He has chosen to return to west London permanently after turning down approaches from other English clubs in recent days, prioritising continuity in the Premier League over fresh starts elsewhere.
Fee Negotiation
The final fee represents a significant reduction from the terms initially available to Fulham. The Cottagers held a reported €12 million purchase option during the loan spell but declined to trigger it, instead negotiating the valuation down to €6 million. The revised arrangement saves Fulham approximately half the initial asking price whilst securing the forward outright.
Bayern will retain the right to bring Kusi-Asare back to Munich should they wish to do so, having inserted a buy-back provision into the transfer agreement. This mechanism protects the Bavarian club’s interests should the striker realise his potential in England, allowing them to reclaim a player who has made only two senior appearances for their first team since arriving from Sweden.
Rapid Ascent
Kusi-Asare joined Bayern from AIK in February 2024 for a reported €3.5 million fee. Despite the substantial outlay to acquire him from the Allsvenskan side, he struggled to break into a star-studded senior squad at the Allianz Arena, prompting the temporary switch to Fulham.
The permanent transfer now provides the Cottagers with a low-cost attacking option compared to the original buy-out clause, whilst allowing Bayern to recoup nearly double their initial outlay after just 16 months. The structure satisfies both parties: Fulham secure a young striker with top-flight experience, whilst Bayern monetise a peripheral asset without permanently closing the door on his future.
The agreement marks an early piece of business for Fulham as they reshape their forward line ahead of the new campaign. The arrangement remains subject to personal terms and regulatory formalities before the transfer is concluded.
