AS Monaco defender Kassoum Ouattara is reportedly close to completing a transfer to Beşiktaş after agreeing personal terms with the Turkish club. The 21-year-old left-back has chosen the Süper Lig over concrete interest from Hull City, with negotiations between the Ligue 1 outfit and the Istanbul giants now at an advanced stage.
The prospective move comes during a period of significant change in Monaco’s full-back positions. The Principality side confirmed earlier this week that Caio Henrique has departed for Ajax Amsterdam on a permanent basis, while Nazinho has signed from Cercle Brugge to strengthen the squad. Despite these adjustments, Ouattara is determined to seek regular first-team opportunities elsewhere, forcing the club to consider his sale despite initial plans to retain him.
According to Nice-Matin, the transfer is expected to cost Beşiktaş around €8 million, with a further €2 million available in performance-related add-ons. Representatives are also negotiating a sell-on percentage that would protect Monaco’s financial interests should the defender be sold again in the future. This structure reflects the Turkish club’s commitment to securing the player while allowing Monaco to reinvest in replacements.
Hull City had hoped to lure the Frenchman to the Premier League following their recent promotion, yet the player has opted for a switch to Istanbul instead. With an agreement between Ouattara and Beşiktaş already in place, the deal now hinges on finalising the remaining contractual details between the two clubs.
Monaco would face a shortage of specialist left-back options should the transfer proceed. Managerial staff had anticipated retaining the young defender to maintain adequate cover following Henrique’s departure, but his insistence on leaving means the recruitment team may need to accelerate their search for further reinforcements before the transfer window closes.
