Milan have agreed a club-record deal to sign striker Goncalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain and are already plotting further moves for Antonio Silva, Morten Hjulmand and Marc Casado.

Italian reports claim the Rossoneri will pay €74 million in fixed fees for the Portugal international, who failed to start a single Champions League match for PSG this season. The fee would shatter the club’s previous transfer record and has raised eyebrows among observers, with some expressing surprise at the scale of the investment for a player who struggled to secure regular minutes in Europe’s premier club competition.

Defensive and midfield reinforcements targeted

Despite the significant outlay for Ramos, Milan’s recruitment drive appears far from complete. The Serie A side have identified Benfica centre-back Silva, Sporting CP midfielder Hjulmand and Barcelona’s Casado as priority additions ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

Silva, aged 22, is reportedly valued at approximately €20 million in his native Portugal. The defender has established himself as one of the Primeira Liga’s most promising talents, though Benfica may demand a premium for their homegrown asset.

Hjulmand currently plies his trade at Sporting and has previously worked under Milan head coach Ruben Amorim during their time together in Lisbon. That existing relationship could prove crucial in any negotiations, though Sporting are unlikely to welcome approaches for another key player.

Casado represents a different profile as a graduate of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy. The midfielder has accumulated 75 competitive appearances for the Catalan club’s first team across the past four seasons, gaining valuable experience in both domestic and European fixtures.

Agent links and strategic planning

Silva and Casado share a common link with Ramos: both are represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes. Milan’s heightened interest in Mendes’s client base follows a lengthy strategic meeting held recently in Lisbon.

Club owner Gerry Cardinale, Amorim, director of player training Hendrik Almstadt and head of football intelligence Bobby Gardiner convened for over four hours to outline the club’s next steps in the transfer window, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Portuguese midfielder Hjulmand appears a particularly natural fit given his existing relationship with Amorim, though Sporting may prove reluctant sellers. Meanwhile, securing Silva from domestic rivals Benfica could present significant negotiating challenges given the fierce competition between the clubs.

Milan’s aggressive approach marks a notable shift in their transfer strategy as they look to build a squad capable of competing at the highest level. The coming weeks will determine whether the Rossoneri can convert their ambitious targets into signed contracts.
