RB Salzburg and TSG Hoffenheim have reached an agreement over the transfer of striker Haris Tabaković, though the deal remains incomplete as the player has yet to agree personal terms with the Austrian club.

Clubs reach agreement

According to reports, the clubs have settled on a transfer fee believed to be in the region of €5 million for the 32-year-old forward. However, the move cannot proceed until Tabaković gives his approval and finalises contractual details with Salzburg.

Gladbach spell ends

The Bosnia international spent last season on loan at Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he enjoyed a productive campaign. He scored 13 Bundesliga goals in 32 appearances, establishing himself as a reliable attacking option for the German side and demonstrating his continued potency at top-flight level.

A permanent switch to Gladbach had appeared likely following his successful loan spell, but that deal is understood to have collapsed due to financial disagreements between the parties. This breakdown in negotiations opened the door for Salzburg to approach Hoffenheim, who hold Tabaković’s registration.

Transfer remains in balance

The Austrian champions now face competition from elsewhere in Germany. Several other Bundesliga clubs are reportedly monitoring the situation and retain an interest in securing the experienced striker’s services. This ongoing competition for his signature means Salzburg may still face challenges in completing the transfer despite having secured an agreement with Hoffenheim.

Tabaković’s goalscoring record last season highlights his value as a proven attacking option. At 32, he brings maturity and established quality that could provide immediate impact for Salzburg’s squad as they prepare for domestic and European campaigns.

The next step in the process requires the player and his representatives to reach an agreement with Salzburg over wages and contract length. Until those personal terms are settled, the transfer remains provisional, leaving room for other interested parties to potentially intervene and tempt the striker with alternative offers.
