AS Roma have placed a €35 million price tag on midfielder Niccolo Pisilli in a clear signal that the club wishes to retain the 21-year-old despite significant transfer interest from domestic and European rivals.

The Italy youth international has emerged as one of the most coveted young talents in Serie A. Inter Milan, Porto, AC Milan and Juventus have all registered interest in the midfielder, who has become a priority target for several clubs seeking to strengthen their squads. However, Roma appear determined to keep their academy graduate, setting a valuation designed to deter potential suitors.

Financial Pressures vs Sporting Ambition

Roma face ongoing Financial Fair Play constraints and have reportedly considered multiple player sales to strengthen their balance sheet. Midfielder Manu Koné, defender Evan Ndicka and goalkeeper Mile Svilar have also been linked with exits as the club seeks to raise funds to satisfy UEFA regulations.

Should Roma ultimately sell Pisilli, the transfer would register as 100 per cent profit on the books because the player graduated from the club’s youth system. This accounting advantage would provide significant relief for the club’s FFP calculations. Despite this, the Giallorossi are reportedly prepared to accept further UEFA restrictions and fines rather than lose one of their most promising homegrown talents.

Rising Valuation

The current €35m demand represents a substantial increase from earlier estimates. When Inter Milan first expressed interest in signing the young Italy international, figures in the region of €25m were discussed. That valuation has now risen by €10m following Pisilli’s impressive performances during the second half of the 2025-26 season, where he earned more regular first-team opportunities and demonstrated consistent form at the highest level.

While Inter retain their interest, Portuguese champions Porto have also identified Pisilli as a priority target. Milan and Juventus complete the quartet of elite clubs tracking the 21-year-old’s development, creating a competitive market for his signature.

Current Status

Despite the gathering interest, no formal offers have been submitted to Roma. According to reports, the clubs involved are unlikely to present bids while the asking price remains at €35m, suggesting the midfielder will remain at the Stadio Olimpico unless the Italian club softens its stance.

Pisilli continues his development in the Italian capital, with the club banking on his continued growth outweighing any short-term financial relief his sale would provide.
