• Supporters remain angry after watching the club end a second straight season without a trophy

Real Madrid claimed a vital 2-0 win against Real Oviedo at the Santiago Bernabéu on Thursday night. The victory offers some relief following their disappointing loss to Barcelona in El Clásico.

The mood inside the stadium was heated and difficult throughout the clash. Fans made their anger clear with loud protests. They are upset that the club will finish another campaign without lifting any major silverware.

Álvaro Arbeloa’s team looked nervous during the early stages of the match. However, they managed to break the deadlock before the interval. Young forward Gonzalo García cut inside from the edge of the penalty area and bent a precise shot into the far corner.

With only ten minutes left on the clock, substitute Jude Bellingham doubled the lead. The England international had entered the pitch to a chorus of whistles from unhappy supporters. He responded by dribbling past two challenges and smashing a low drive into the bottom corner of the net.

This success gives Real Madrid momentum ahead of their final two fixtures of the season. The squad needed a positive result during a challenging spell for the Spanish giants.

• Real Madrid aim to sign three new defenders during the upcoming summer transfer window.
• Several senior players face uncertain futures due to contract expirations and disputes with management.
• The club views its defence as the weakest area after two seasons without major silverware.

Real Madrid face a crucial summer rebuild. The Spanish giants have gone two seasons without lifting a major trophy at the Santiago Bernabéu. Their only remaining hope for this campaign rests on a late miracle in La Liga.

Los Blancos have shifted their transfer focus to the backline. While the midfield has struggled to control matches this season, the club now believes defence is the priority. Reports from El Chiringuito suggest the board wants to bring in at least three defensive recruits.

The need for fresh faces stems from multiple issues. Injuries, an aging squad and several players running out of contracts have left the unit fragile. This overhaul spells trouble for club captain Dani Carvajal. The veteran right-back has not received a new contract offer. He has also reportedly fallen out with manager Álvaro Arbeloa, making his departure likely.

The left-back position looks more secure. Álvaro Carreras, Fran García and Ferland Mendy all have deals for next season. However, the centre of defence faces major changes. David Alaba will leave when his contract expires. Antonio Rüdiger could follow, though the club might offer him a one-year extension.

Currently, only three centre-backs are confirmed for next season. These are Raúl Asencio, the injury-plagued Éder Militão and Dean Huijsen. Asencio’s future is also uncertain after he clashed with Arbeloa. With limited options and three new signings expected, the club is preparing for a major defensive reshuffle.
