Hull City offer rejected as Toulouse hold firm

Toulouse FC have turned down a €15.4 million bid from Hull City for Brazilian forward Emersonn. The English Championship side, known as the Tigers, tabled the offer hoping to secure the 21-year-old’s signature, but the French club deemed the proposal insufficient.

Toulouse reportedly value the former Brazil Under-16 international at approximately €25 million. This substantial gap between the bid and the asking price indicates that Hull City must significantly improve their offer if they hope to land the player during the current transfer window.

Impressive debut season

Emersonn only joined Toulouse last summer, yet he quickly established himself as a key figure in the squad. Across all competitions, he made 31 appearances and started 22 matches, contributing seven goals and three assists. His ten direct goal involvements highlight his effectiveness in the final third.

The forward’s impact extended beyond raw statistics. He scored against Ligue 1 heavyweights Olympique de Marseille, Olympique Lyonnais and AS Monaco, proving capable of delivering in high-pressure environments against elite opposition. These performances have significantly increased his stock in the transfer market.

Long-term contract strengthens Toulouse hand

The attacker is tied to Toulouse until 2029, giving the French club considerable leverage in any negotiations. With four years remaining on his current deal, they face no immediate pressure to sanction a departure.

This firm stance was evident weeks earlier when Real Sociedad saw a €14 million approach rejected. The Spanish club’s bid was dismissed for the same reasons: Toulouse are unwilling to part with a promising young talent who has already demonstrated his worth in one of Europe’s top five leagues.

Hull City’s improved offer of €15.4 million represents a modest increase on the Real Sociedad proposal, yet it still falls roughly €10 million short of the French club’s valuation. This leaves the Championship side facing a significant financial hurdle if they wish to secure the Brazilian’s services.

While reports suggest the Tigers may return with a fresh proposal, Toulouse appear determined to hold out for a fee that properly reflects Emersonn’s potential and lengthy commitment to the club. Any successful transfer will likely require an offer much closer to the €25 million mark.
