SC Freiburg will be without Yuito Suzuki for the rest of the campaign. The club announced this bad news on Monday ahead of their big European match against SC Braga.

The Japanese winger injured his collarbone during the 1-1 draw with VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday. He has already had an operation to fix the problem.

The Bundesliga side said the 24-year-old will stay out of action “for the time being”. Because the season is almost finished, he will not play again this term.

This is a big loss for the team. Suzuki has scored nine goals and made seven assists in 41 games this season. He has been one of their most important players.

Freiburg face SC Braga in the second leg of the Europa League semi-final on Thursday. They must now play this vital match without the attacker.
