FC Bayern Munich have received bad news about one of their young players. Teenage midfielder David Santos Daiber has picked up a serious injury that will keep him out for several months.
The nineteen-year-old has damaged a tendon in his left thigh. Doctors at the club say he will need at least three months to get better. This means he will not play again this season.
The timing is very unlucky for the Portuguese Under-19 player. He had only just returned to training with the senior team after recovering from other problems. Now he must start his recovery again from the beginning.
The injury means he will miss the rest of the current season. He will also miss all of the pre-season training before the next campaign starts.
Daiber is not the only young player at the club who is injured. Wisdom Mike, Maycon Cardozo, Erblin Osmani and Guido Della Rovere are also unfit.
The midfielder made his first appearance for the senior team earlier this season. He played in the 4-0 win against Heidenheim on 21 December. He also played in the 4-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach in March.
