- Parma face no financial pressure to sell the 23-year-old talent
Mandela Keita has become one of the most wanted young players in Europe after an excellent first season with Parma. The Belgian midfielder has attracted attention from Atalanta, who now join English clubs Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur in watching the player closely.
Italian media reports suggest Atalanta need to find a replacement for Ederson. The Brazilian is expected to leave Bergamo this summer, with Manchester United leading the race ahead of Atletico Madrid. Although Keita plays differently from Ederson, he has the technical ability that coach Raffaele Palladino requires.
Atalanta remain in the early stages of their interest. Club scouts have watched Keita multiple times to test his physical strength and his skill at breaking through opposition defences. None of the interested clubs have made a formal bid at this stage.
The 23-year-old arrived at Parma from Antwerp last July for around €13 million. He has developed into a key member of Carlos Cuesta’s squad. Parma do not need to sell him for financial reasons, though a strong offer could convince them to do business.
