The Gunners won 1-0 on the night. This gave them a 2-1 victory over the two legs. Bukayo Saka scored the only goal of the match.
Atletico Madrid began the match with high intensity. The Spanish side pressed hard and created early pressure. Antoine Griezmann and Julian Alvarez linked up to trouble the Arsenal defence. Gabriel Magalhaes made a vital block to stop Alvarez. Later, Declan Rice cleared a dangerous shot from Giuliano Simeone.
Arsenal grew into the game as the first half continued. In the final minute before the break, they took the lead. Viktor Gyokeres broke free down the right wing. He sent a cross towards the far post. Leandro Trossard met the ball with a shot. Goalkeeper Jan Oblak saved it. However, Bukayo Saka reacted quickly. He reached the rebound ahead of the defenders and tapped the ball into the empty net.
