Werder Bremen look set to win the battle for highly-rated French forward Kenny Quetant. The teenager is currently at AC Le Havre, but his contract with the Ligue 1 outfit runs out at the end of the season.
Reports from German outlets Bild and Sky Germany, along with journalist Christoph Michel, suggest the Bundesliga side are nearing an agreement. The 19-year-old is likely to put pen to paper on a four-year contract at the Weser-Stadion once the current campaign finishes.
SC Freiburg had previously been favourites to secure the striker’s services. However, Werder Bremen have now moved to the front of the queue. Because Quetant is available on a free transfer, no fee will be required. This makes him an attractive option for the northern German club as they look to strengthen their attack.
