Kenya Police FC head coach Nicholas Muyoti has blamed his side’s loss of concentration for their failure to beat Gor Mahia in the FKF Premier League. The match ended in a 1-1 stalemate at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday.

The Law Enforcers started strongly and took the lead after 22 minutes. Brian Chonjo reacted fastest to a loose ball in the box after Eric Zakayo’s free-kick struck the defensive wall. The striker pounced on the rebound to give his side the advantage.

However, the team dropped deep after the interval. Muyoti believes this change in approach proved costly. “We got the tactics right in the first half, but we stopped playing after the break. We invited them to attack us by sitting too deep in our own half,” he explained.

The league leaders took advantage of this caution. They pushed forward constantly and finally found a breakthrough four minutes from time. Shariff Musa delivered a cross from the flank, and Ghanaian forward Ebenezer Assifuah fired home from close range to rescue a point.

During the closing stages, Muyoti introduced several fresh legs. He brought on Edward Omondi, Baraka Badi, Marvin Nabwire, and Yves Koutiama. The former Harambee Stars midfielder defended these changes. He insisted the substitutes kept the ball well, though he admitted they needed more threat in the final third.

The draw leaves Kenya Police in third position with 58 points. With only three matches remaining in the 2025/26 season, they can no longer win the championship. Despite this, Muyoti has demanded maximum effort in the remaining fixtures. “We must return to the training ground and fix our mistakes. The season is not finished, and we will fight until the final whistle of the last game,” he stated.

The Law Enforcers now turn their attention to a double-header against Bandari. They face the Dockers in the league before meeting them again in the semi-finals of the FKF Cup.
