The summer transfer window has not opened yet. However, French club Olympique de Marseille are already planning major changes. The club has received official offers for two important players. Dutch defender Quinten Timber and Brazilian winger Igor Paixao are both targets for other teams.

French newspaper L’Équipe reports that Marseille must sell players. The club will not play in the Champions League next season. This failure has created serious money problems. As a result, they need to raise funds through player sales.

Both Timber, aged 24, and Paixao, aged 25, have contracts until 2030. They were among the best performers this season. The club would prefer to keep them. Despite this, concrete bids have already arrived for the pair.

Two other stars may also leave the Stade Vélodrome. English forward Mason Greenwood and Argentine defender Leonardo Balerdi earn high wages. The club needs to reduce its wage bill. This is necessary even if they qualify for the Europa League on the final day of the campaign.

Grégory Lorenzi will become the new sporting director soon. He has not officially started work yet. Despite this, he faces a difficult task. He must manage several player departures when he takes over.
