Fortuna Düsseldorf have secured the long-term future of promising defender Elias Egouli. The German second-tier side confirmed that the centre-back has signed a new contract running until the summer of 2029.

Egouli first arrived at the club in 2024 to strengthen the under-23 team. He penned his maiden professional deal last November. Since then, the young defender has enjoyed a rapid rise through the ranks.

He forced his way into the starting eleven from the fifteenth matchday onwards. To date, Egouli has made twenty-three appearances for the senior side. He has also featured twenty-three times for the U-23 outfit in the Regionalliga West.

Club sporting director Sven Mislintat praised the player’s swift progress. He stated that Egouli has developed impressively during his debut professional season. Mislintat added that the defender has gradually fought for and earned his place in the team.

The director also emphasised that Egouli remains a young player with significant room for further growth. He expressed satisfaction that the talented centre-back has now committed to the club for all foreseeable future scenarios.
