SC Freiburg are plotting a summer move for Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto. The Bundesliga outfit have already opened discussions with the 22-year-old’s agents about a potential switch to Germany.
According to transfer expert Florian Plettenberg, Leeds are willing to let the Italian leave. The Yorkshire club would accept either a permanent transfer or a loan deal with a mandatory purchase clause.
However, completing this transfer is proving tough for the German side. They have been in negotiations for several weeks but face challenges in getting the deal over the line.
Gnonto has found life difficult at Elland Road this term. He has managed just three assists in 473 minutes of top-flight action. A calf injury has also kept him out of the side for long periods.
The forward currently holds a market value of €18 million according to Transfermarkt.
