Inter Milan will turn the San Siro into a party venue this Sunday. The newly-crowned Italian champions face Hellas Verona in their final home match of the 2025-26 campaign.
The Nerazzurri completed a domestic double this week. They lifted the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night after beating Lazio 2-0 in Rome. This triumph came just ten days after they sealed the Serie A title with a 2-0 victory against Parma.
Sunday’s match offers little competitive tension. Inter have already secured the Scudetto. Verona have already dropped to the second tier. Both sides will play for pride rather than points.
The home team will hold a special ceremony before kick-off. Players will receive the league trophy on the pitch after the final whistle. They will then tour the city on an open-top bus to celebrate with supporters.
Coach Cristian Chivu plans to shuffle his pack. Veteran defender Francesco Acerbi could make his farewell appearance at the San Siro before his contract expires next month. Yann Sommer is expected to return between the sticks.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Luis Henrique will likely replace Denzel Dumfries at right wing-back. Carlos Augusto may step in for Federico Dimarco on the left flank. Henrikh Mkhitaryan should feature in midfield. Up front, Ange-Yoan Bonny might partner captain Lautaro Martinez in attack.
Verona suffered a 1-0 defeat at Como last weekend. Coach Paolo Sammarco is unlikely to change his starting eleven, despite his team having nothing left to fight for.
Kick-off is set for 4:00 PM East Africa Time on Sunday.
Probable Inter XI (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, Acerbi, Bastoni; L. Henrique, Barella, Zielinski, Mkhitaryan, C. Augusto; L. Martinez, Bonny.
Probable Verona XI (3-5-1-1): Montipo; Nelsson, Edmundsson, Valentini; Belghali, Akpa Akpro, Gagliardini, Bernede, Frese; Suslov; Bowie.
International viewers can stream the match live on DAZN. Fans in the United States can watch via Paramount+.
