Le Havre AC guaranteed their place in Ligue 1 next season following a victory against FC Lorient on Sunday evening. However, changes are coming. Sporting director Mathieu Bodmer has announced he will leave the club.
Bodmer played an important part in keeping the club in the top division. He did this even though the team had very little money to spend. His decision shocked many supporters.
The former France international joined Le Havre in 2022. However, it appears that disagreements with the new owners, Blue Crow, have ended his time there. He said he is leaving because of problems inside the club. He finds these issues impossible to accept.
Speaking on Sunday evening, Bodmer said, “I do not need anything. I do not need money. I only need respect.” He also said he hoped to finish his job at the Normandy club with good results. This is now certain because the team will stay in Ligue 1.
Nobody knows what he will do next. However, some people say he might join SM Caen. Kylian Mbappé owns this club. Caen will play in Ligue 3 next season.
