  • The move would mark the end of Christophe Pélissier’s tenure at the Stade de l’Abbé Deschamps.

AJ Auxerre have made a late move to secure the services of out-of-work manager Will Still. The French side are attempting to beat FC Lorient to the signature of the Anglo-Belgian coach.

Still has been unemployed since his departure from Southampton earlier this term. The 31-year-old had appeared set to join Lorient this summer. However, Auxerre have now emerged as favourites to land the former RC Lens and Stade de Reims boss.

The Burgundy-based club secured their place in the top flight on Sunday evening. They now look set to part ways with current manager Christophe Pélissier. Still would take over at the Stade de l’Abbé Deschamps if the deal goes through.

Lorient had targeted Still to replace Olivier Pantaloni. Pantaloni announced he would leave the Breton outfit despite a successful campaign. He cited a breakdown in trust with the club’s board as his reason for departing.
